Look! Over on the lab counter. It’s a spectrometer. It’s a lightsource. It’s a CPU. It’s… Jaz!
Okay, so maybe it can’t leap tall buildings, but Jaz is definitely the new hero in optical sensing equipment.
The Jaz modular suite is a community of stackable, modular and autonomous components that combine to create a family of smart sensing instruments.
Jaz’s modules form a community (or network) of smart sensing appliances that share common electronics and communications, yet can operate independently.
A typical community could consist of a miniature spectrometer; an OLED display unit; an Ethernet and memory module or battery and memory module; and a light source. Additional modules — including docking stations, environmental sensors, phase fluorimeters, auxiliary spectrometers, GPS, MP3 player, voice recorder and camera — are in development.
Modules can be used alone, in the stack, or in an Internet-based community.
What it is
